William Kenney ROANOKE, VA Roanoke restaurateur Bill Kenney, known for his famous "Kenney Burgers," has died of natural causes at 91.

Kenney is considered one of western Virginia's fast-food pioneers after he opened his first restaurant in Roanoke in 1958.

The "Kenney Burger" was made famous by being smothered in a secret sauce that was the trademark of his life's work.

After retirement, Kenney continued bottling his sauce and selling it to raise money for Habitat for Humanity.

ABC 13 last interviewed Kenney in June when his neighbor Bob Slaughter died. At that time, Kenney said he had sold the formula to his secret sauce but was unsure if the buyer was going to do anything with it.
